How the counting works

Everything here counts in whole days. The date you give is day zero and the day after is day one, which is the convention an age or an anniversary uses. Leap days are always included, so a span is never an estimate: ten years is 3,652 or 3,653 days depending on which years it covers, and the tools say which.

The personal counters roll over at midnight in your own timezone, because that is when your day changes. The dated pages elsewhere on the site count in UTC instead, so that the same page shows the same number to everyone.

Nothing is stored

None of these tools ask for an account and none of them send what you type anywhere. Dates you enter into a counter stay in the browser, and where a tool offers a link to save a count, that link is built in the page rather than on a server.
